Kendriya Vidyalaya Loktak was established in the year 1979 and last year we proudly celebrated the SILVER JUBILEE of its establishment.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. M.K.Madhavan & A.K. Pathak, Principal the Vidyalaya started functioning upto class X and now it has grown into a full-fledged Vidyalaya offering Science and Arts Streams in class XII. It is Co-Educational school with English and Hindi as the medium of instruction and affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi.
Initially this Vidyalaya was set up to cater to the needs of the wards of NHPC employees and wards of paramilitary posted in this project to maintain the law and order situation in Manipur but now a days trends have changed and vidyalaya grants admission on the basis of a written test to the floating population also.

The Vidyalaya Football U-19 (Boys) team got Team Championship in the
2nd All India Inter-KV Football Tournament 2012 held from 04-01-2013 to 07-01-2013 at KV IIT, Kharagpur (WB).
Master AMAR LAMA was adjudged as the Man of the Tournament being the best player.
